About me

Hello! I’m Jennifer Trinkle, a Berkeley-based psychotherapist who works mainly with teens and young adults who feel disconnected, lonely, and broken (spoiler alert: you are not broken!). I also support parents who feel held back by their own childhood experiences or are in high conflict or low communication parenting relationships.

Clients tell me I am a calm, accepting, and kind presence. I can handle emotional intensity as well as numbness, holding space for hopelessness while also making room for hope. While I always keep safety in mind, I am comfortable discussing suicidal ideation and self-harm.

I am an animal lover and have been a pescatarian for more than half of my life. Originally from the East Coast, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my family which includes a college-aged kid, three cats, and two sighthounds.

Professionally, I’ve been seeing clients since 2013. I was also a Clinical Fellow at the Ann Martin Center where I received specialized training on supporting young people and parents. In 2022, I wrote 52-Week Grief Journal: Prompts and Reflections for Navigating Loss. This book is for adults who want to process their grief in a structured format.
